Originally introduced in the mid 1980’s as a Custom model for Martin, the Vintage series was fully realized in the late 90’s after a rush of orders of guitars with 1930’s features tipped Martin off the to the fact that the features of their older guitars were incredibly attractive to a number of players who were more than willing to pay for it.

This 2012 example, while not technically the normal HD-28V, is a Custom Shop example of essentially the exact same guitar, except with an Adirondack top and a nice dark Ambertone finish. These changes, the Adirondack at least, give this guitar a more powerful sound than a lot of quite more expensive modern Martins with similar 30’s features, even with the ‘normal’ Indian rosewood back and sides.

The neck, in true 30’s form, is pretty darn big, filling up even our biggest players’ hands here, but is extremely comfortable and vintage accurate with its 1 ¾ nut and 2 ⅜ saddle spacing.

This guitar’s in great condition, with no repairs done to it. Extremely well set up.
