2003 Krishot F5

$3,750.00

Made by Czech Eduard Kristufek, this early 2000’s Krishot mandolin has a much more traditional style than his current crop of instruments.

Made with a nice tight grained piece of (presumably) European spruce and very good looking tight flame maple, this two decade old beauty has held up incredibly well, with the geometry staying pretty much perfect over time, set up perfectly as it is now. The very comfy soft V profile neck is speed necked, which, with its traditional 1 ⅛ nut, has one of the most playable necks of any mandolin we have at the moment. The ebony fretboard, with its vintage sized EVO fretwire, is juuuuuust barely radiused, done by Bobby Wintringham of San Juan Mandolins, for a vintage feel with a little bit of a modern vibe.

Aesthetically, this mandolin is in good shape for its age, with the nitro finish 30’s sunburst having a fair but respectable bit of play wear (mostly pick scrapes on the treble side) and one or two dings.

This mandolin has a nice woody tone, with a good even chop with just a little sparkle on top. Complex but not overwhelmingly so, great for recording.

Comes with an L.R. Baggs Radius pickup installed on the top and out the endpin internally.

Hard case included.
