Bill Bussman, building under the name Old Wave, made some highly regarded instruments that gained a lot of traction on the Mandolin Cafe, partially due to his unique and modern inspired builds, as well as his vintage style instruments, but also due to his seemingly endless sense of humor and good-naturedness, which earned him good grace with many a professional player.

While Bill unfortunately passed away in 2023, his instruments live on, and we’ve got a few of his pieces with us here at the shop, including this Two-Point oval hole with a unique shape and great open sound. Spruce top, super wide flamed maple back and sides. Nice rich tone.
