Most likely from 1926, the first year of the diamond shaped flange holes, this lovely little Mandolin Banjo is a great example of the pre-golden era banjos being small but mighty, with this instrument packing a surprising punch for its size. The checking on the neck and headstock slightly conceal the original inlays, but the patina is well earned in an instrument that’s nearly 100 years old. The maple resonator and neck give a nice punchy sound, with the replacement skin helping to boost the volume of the old gal. The original tuners are surprisingly functional, though there is some resistance as expected and can get tight at certain points.
Brass hoop tone ring.
Besides the replacement head, it’s otherwise all original. Comes with non original hardshell case.
